Flowers In May

Not much progress has been made on Adella’s room since we moved into our new house two years ago. We were holding off on decorating, unsure as to whether or not the kids would be sharing a room or if we would convert our master retreat into a 5th bedroom (for a 3rd baby). No, I’m not pregnant yet, but we do have to plan these things out! Mom guilt has been setting in, so I have been slowly gaining inspiration for Adella’s room: a new bed as well as art and accessories.

It’s no secret that we love everything about Disney, and if it were up to Adella, her room would be filled with EVERY Disney character. One of our favorite Disney movies to watch at night after Nolan goes to bed is Alice in Wonderland. When I came across this print, by Flowers In May, I thought it would be the perfect starting point to design her room. It’s an adorable and modern take on a Disney classic! I love all of the elements in this print, and Adella enjoys pointing out details that she remembers from the movie.

Emily Dumas, of Flowers in May,  is a designer and illustrator based in Beverly, Massachusetts. She creates a broad range of handmade products from art prints, paper goods, and housewares. When I visited her etsy shop, I immediately fell in love with her style and had a hard time choosing just one print. There are so many wonderful options that work for both kids and adults, “Paris I Love You” and “Lazy Sunday” are two of my favorites. Her attention to detail is astounding, from the creative names of each product to the way in which items are packaged and shipped.
